The good Lord and his angels were watching
over me yesterday. My middle son sells specialty cheese
at a farmer's market and I needed to use my
husband's big pickup yesterday so my son
could go to the warehouse and load it up with
all his coolers full of cheese and tables, etc. to
set up at the market.
After I dropped him off at the market and was going
through town to head back home, all of a sudden
I heard a really loud sound and I thought my tire
had popped, but the next second, the truck tilted really strange.
A split second later, as I was trying to steer the truck off
the road, out of the corner of my eye I see my entire
wheel flying across the road.
I had one eyeball on the tire and the other eyeball
on where I was trying to steer the truck.
I held my breath, watching the tire go flying.
It was heading directly for a small bank with
all glass windows in front, but suddenly it
sharply turned toward a tall concrete retaining wall.
That tire was rolling so fast, when it hit the wall,
it didn't stop or bounce off, it JUMPED the wall!
On top of that wall is a row of duplex homes,
so then I wondered if it would destroy something
on one of them, but it hit a lamp post.
I felt certain it would fly off that lamp post,
and head back down the hill toward the road,
but it started spinning and eventually fell over.
I'm still amazed that the tire crossed the street
when there was no oncoming traffic, and it
didn't hit the glass windows on the bank and
it didn't damage any property at the duplexes AND
it didn't come flying back down onto the road and
start the whole process over again!
You want to hear the really amazing part?
While waiting for my husband to come help me,
I walked up and down the road and was
able to locate all 6 lug nuts so my husband was
able to put the wheel back on again!
GOD IS GOOD!
I was scarce in blogland last week because I worked
at day camp all week at our church.
It goes from 9-4 every day and I decided to be
smart and not try to blog and teach at the same time.
I hope to be back to some regular blogging this week!
So...what does this photo have to do with this post?
Absolutely nothing...I just don't like having a post without a photo!
I sold this window last week and it was so pretty!
Hope you have a blessed Sonday!

This is an amazing series of miracles!!! So thankful that no one was hurt! An abundance of miracles happen every day that we seldom notice, but when something this awesome happens...WOW, it calls our attention to the fact that God watches over us!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Maki

Wow, how scary. Something like that happened to me a couple of years ago. The wheel on my vehicle fell completely off while going down a very busy road. The lug nuts had been overtightened and the wheel actually broke off, fortunately I had been stopped at a red light and was not going very fast when it happened. The lord surely had me in his hand. So glad you were not hurt.
ReplyDeleteWhat a horrifying experience! I'm so glad you weren't hurt (or anyone else) but I'm sure you are still shaken by it all! ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteSo awful to see something like that happening that you have no control over. So glad that you or anyone else was not hurt. God was watching over you.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and SIL were on the freeway at night ... full speed when a tire came off an eighteen wheeler in front of them and hit their pickup. They managed to dodge it enough that it did not hit them head on. There again, God's care ... they got out of that unharmed.
Hugs,
Audrey Z.
That's quite a praise report Angie, so happy that you are okay!! God is good!
ReplyDeleteGod is indeed Good! So glad He was watching over you, that tire, and all other would be "passers by". I wonder if they know how Good He is, to have protected them as well.
ReplyDeleteI always praise Him on those days I am late somewhere...it could be He has protected me from some unforeseen accident. Sometimes, I've come upon an accident that has just recently happened where I might have been traveling; while I don't wish anyone ILL will... I am ever grateful to God for watching over us!
so glad you able to fix the truck and tire w/o any 'out of pocket'
the window is pretty! glad it sold.
Take care, Pat
Oooh, that was scarey and the Lord certainly was protecting you. Glad you are safe. And that is a sweet window!
ReplyDeleteAngie! I'm so glad you're ok, and were able to literally pick up and keep going! Amazing. Angels WERE watching over you! We missed you, too!

Oh, my! You were being watched over. The same thing happened to a friend's husband who drives an 18 wheeler, but in his case it didn't end as well. The tire crossed 4 lanes of traffic and went through the windshield of a car traveling in the opposite direction. The person driving the car sadly didn't make it. It's tough to get back behind the wheel after something like that.
ReplyDeleteYou were really fortunate that neither you nor anyone were hurt! Yes, God was watching over you!
ReplyDeleteI am back just this week from an extended blog break, resuming posting last Tuesday I think. Potpourri Friday is in progress if you want to link up! I've really missed everyone!
I have used the books I purchased from you (Love Them!) in several posts and they will be in one posting shortly. Just want you to know that I linked to you in this post.
Just so happy you were not hurt!
you certainly do!! thank goodness!!
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness! What a terrible scare! Thank God (literally) that no one was hurt. (((hugs)))
ReplyDeleteWow! What a scare...truly a miracle that you (and others) weren't harmed! Thank God!
ReplyDeleteSusan
Wow, sounds like you hardly had time to take in all that was going on. Glad you made it safely off the road. So glad no one was injured and nothing was destroyed by your runaway tire!
ReplyDeleteLiz
One of those really serious situations that didn't turn into serious. Very happy you are fine. A miracle.
ReplyDeleteWow! I had the same thing happen to me years ago - I was also blessed in that no person or property was hurt or damaged. It is the most surreal feeling - seeing a tire/wheel pass you at 60+mph followed by the instant realization that it's actually your tire. Glad all was OK!
